Her experience includes work as a school counselor, domestic violence counselor, and providing mental health services in corrections.
Candiss is focused on children, adolescences, and their families. In her work with children from 5-20 years, she combines Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavior, Solution Focused, and Family Systems Therapy’s into an eclectic approach while introducing healthy coping skills to facilitate positive change. These therapeutic techniques assist in addressing depression, anxiety, impulsive behaviors, anger, and other common struggles that school age children often deal with. She takes pride in offering the best therapeutic techniques and a comforting environment that allows her clients to express themselves.
Candiss uses Play and Art therapy techniques that allow children to communicate feelings and discuss topics freely and openly through colors, paint, and playing with tactile materials. In each session the child will learn and practice helpful techniques that transfer into school and home.
