Kansas City Child Psychologists & Therapists
Child Therapy maintains the therapeutic focus on the child to support him in addressing mental well being. Our therapists are capable of working with children with ADHD, attachment issues, anxiety, depression, grief, loss, trauma, and life transitions.
The therapeutic relationship begins with an assessment to gather information about any presenting problems as well as family, medical, developmental, and social history.
Each child and situation is unique so our therapists will determine which modes of child therapy will be appropriate for working with your child. Our therapists use a variety of modes of therapy to include, play therapy, sand tray therapy, cognitive therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, systems theory, attachment theory, child-parent relationship therapy, and parent education. In supporting children in meeting treatment goals, it is often recommended that parents attend sessions to gain support in positive parenting strategies.
