Hope Gosse is a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor who provides individual and family counseling to teens ages 13+ and adults. Hope graduated from the University of Central Missouri’s nationally-accredited Master’s of Science Counseling program with an emphasis in clinical mental health and school counseling. She is provisionally licensed in Missouri.
Hope is passionate about supporting teenagers, young adults and parents. She finds it important to help individuals recognize their own strengths and build on those so they can develop a life worth living. Hope uses an individualistic, person-centered approach when working with clients so she can understand each person’s unique life experiences, struggles and goals for change. She incorporates humor, empathy and her own life experiences into the treatment of individuals with a variety of mental health concerns. She works with clients to identify what is important to them, then helps them determine the necessary steps to solve concerns and get more of what they enjoy.
Hope draws from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skill interventions and Cognitive Behavioral theories to specifically help teens and adults improve their thinking, communication, conflict resolution and emotional regulation skills. She works with clients to develop mindfulness and acceptance to encourage successful daily living. Hope is an active LGBTQ+ ally and works to help families process and understand sexual preference and gender identity. She is excited to serve clients of all backgrounds, ethnicity, religious choices and cultures.
Before joining Curis Functional Health, Hope spent time counseling youth in the public school system and both youth and adults in community mental health settings. Counseling is Hope’s second career. Previously, she spent her time building communities as an urban planner with public and not-for-profit organizations.
