Frequently asked questions about our weight loss program
How much weight can I lose?
The average amount of weight lost in the first 6 weeks in our clinic is 26.2 pounds, and we have had others lose 75+ pounds in 9 months, or more. That said, every person that we work with has different amounts of weight that they need to lose, and no two people lose weight at exactly the same rate.
Do I need to be a certain weight to qualify for your program?
We have some patients that want to lose 15-20 pounds, we have others that need to lose 300+ and everywhere in between. The amount that you can lose with us, will be estimated during your consultation, as well as discussing what your goals are, and how to get there.
Does your program offer pre-packaged foods, or supplements?
Our program contains no pre-packaged foods, shakes, powders, hormones, or shots. We have very limited supplementation that we use. We want, above all else, for the people we work with to lose the weight, but also to learn, in the process, how to keep that weight off. For that to be the case, the foods recommended have to be real food-items you can buy at the store. If we give you powdered food, and you lose weight, what happens when you stop eating powdered food? You gain the weight back, and learn nothing in the process. The supplements we use are very basic, and are only recommended, generally, during a brief portion of our program to help offset some of the effects of changing your eating habits.
What do you provide?
We provide the necessary testing, metabolic booster meal plan, genetic plan, basic supplementation, as well as unlimited support, expert advice, and accountability.
How long will the program take?
Generally speaking, between 6 months, and a year. Depending on many factors, such as amount of weight to lose, current health status, and lifestyle.
How do genetics help?
Your genes help dictate how your body metabolizes food, and thus, play a large role in your weight. Our program features genetic testing that allows us to determine what types of food you would respond best to, what foods to avoid, how much food to eat, and other markers related to healthy behavior. Using this information we can provide a summary of an ideal nutrition and fitness program as revealed by your DNA.
What does the psychologist in the program do?
Psychologists are experts in creating change. The psychologists provide guidance throughout the program. You may choose to meet with a psychologist one-on-one to address food habits, behavior change, and self-discipline. The psychologists’ role is to help you confront obstacles, teach you about yourself, and empower you to take control of your life.
How much does this program cost?
Costs vary, and depend on the length of time you will be in the program and the amount of weight-loss to achieve. We will help determine those two things during our initial consultation, and will also let you know price, and payment options, that day.
Does insurance cover the program?
Insurance does not currently cover the cost of weight-loss, however, if you have a flexible spending account, a health-savings plan, or a health reimbursement account, you may be able to pay for the program through one of those plans/accounts. Please discuss with our financial specialist when you come in.
Who wouldn’t qualify?
If you have uncontrolled diabetes, untreated Grave’s disease, cancer not in remission for at least five years, tuberculosis, gallbladder colic, unstable gout, unstable angina, or if you are pregnant or breast-feeding, this program would not be the best for you.
